After a long and productive winter at Largs Yacht Haven, where we undertook boat upgrades and comprehensive maintenance works, we are thrilled to slip the lines and set sail once again.

Welcome back to our channel! In this episode, we take you behind the scenes as Polaris, our beloved sailing yacht, undergoes her winter lift out at Largs Yacht Haven for some essential annual maintenance.

Join us as we embark on a week of spa-like treatment for our floating home. As we prepare for the lift out, we encounter a surprising discovery with Polaris’ propeller anodes.

We address this issue promptly, ensuring the smooth operation and longevity of our propulsion system. Alongside the anode replacement, we perform an oil change to keep our engine in top condition.

Maintenance goes beyond the mechanical aspects, and we tackle another challenge—condensation. We share our approach to combatting this persistent issue by insulating the hull under the forward berth and the deck.

Using Armaflex self-adhesive closed-cell foam for the hull and YBS SuperQuilt for the deck, we take steps to minimize condensation and enhance onboard comfort.
