Just before Christmas last year we stumbled over an add in a sailing magazine which advertised the Maritime Film Festival in Woodbridge, Norfolk and its Festival Film Competition open for amateurs and pro’s.

“Time to get a reality check about our videos!” Captain Kate thought and re-cut her August 2018 Summer Holiday Part 1  video to fit the competition’s criteria (and to add some bells and whistles to it, of course…).

Much to our surprise, excitement and pride her dull-titled entry “Impressions of a trip from Portsmouth to Salcombe” won a third prize in its category. The judges praised the overall cinematography, the variety of shots and camera angles and the pace of the film as well as the variety of activities.

Once again we sailed into the New Year on the Solent. From Portsmouth to Bembridge where we successfully tested our new Rocna 33 anchor. Next day to  to Yarmouth where we enjoyed an excellent meal in our favourite hang out On the Rocks. On the third day, New Year’s Eve we crossed over to Cowes there we bumped into fellow Swiss Roberto and Tanya from SV Knotty Girl… Enjoyed a great Raclette on the boat and started 2020 in style with some bubbly on deck.

This time we had Mario and Theo, friends of Jodok and Constantin with us and we enjoyed a great time nice weather and we had plenty of time to test out our new electric hob and oven. Earlier in December we had fitted new Lithium batteries and switched from gas to electric cooking. The bread and “Zopf” were amazing! Thank you Toby and team from Keto Marine for planning and executing this upgrade!!
