Finally, the school holidays have started, once again we have successfully moved house and we are now ready to start our extended summer break on Polaris. Georgette, Felix and Nik are on board for the first episode which brings us from Haslar Marina to Portland via East Cowes and Swanage Bay. We survive our first overnight anchorage and Felix catches a singing Mackerel… In Portland we are stuck for five days due to “a period of unseasonably wet and windy weather” (The MetOffice).

Pentecost Weekend
For the long Pentecost weekend Jodok and Caro flew in from Munich. We had loads of fun, mixed winds, fair weather and we passed The Needles Channel at maximum tide flow with force 4-5 against the current. Quite choppy, even in a 46ft boat…
Submarine and Monkey
After a Bluesy time a rainy and windy day kept us from going out. But in Portsmouth there’s plenty to do and to see. E.g. a visit to The Royal Navy Submarine Museum and we learn the story about the Surrender Monkeys. Click here to watch the video
